Meta-Info
Time in Deoria
The flow of time in Deoria is, as in real life, measured by the suns cycle. Units such as seconds, minutes and even up to years remain the same.
Deoria's time is measured in ages, each of which begins with a major event and leads until the next. The current is the third age of Deoria, which started with the defeat of the darklings 5270 years ago.
Playable Races
Deoria is a setting that comes with a decent variety of races, but still requires the players to pick from the options that are present within the world.

- Dragonborn (Metallic, Chromatic, Gem)
- Dwarves (Mountain, Hill)
- Elves (Half, High, Wood)
- Goliaths
- Goblins
- Halflings (Stout, Lightfoot)
- Hobgoblins
- Humans
- Orcs (including Half-Orcs)
- Tabaxi
- Tieflings (all subraces
Playable Classes
While Koto allows for a lot of freedom and many things can be done to make a suitable character for any player, there is a base list of avaivable classes.
These classes include:
- Barbarian
- Bard (limited)
- Cleric
- Druid (limited)
- Fighter
- Monk
- Paladin
- Ranger
- Rogue
- Sorcerer (limited)
- Wizard (limited)
Note: While all classes listed above are avaivable to play, some classes are marked as limited due to the way magic is present through Deoria,. On average, less than half of the party may consist of classes marked that way. Further, not all subclass options from all sourcebooks might be allowed. Please ask the according questions during character creation to make sure the intended build is possible.
Magic in Deoria
Magic flows through the very core of Deoria. It has been within the world from the dawn of its first age. It is like an invisible force, present everywhere. It influences many places and their residents, though none of them quite in the same way.
The usage of magic however is sparce. Few people are able to sense it's flow, even less able to draw from it in a significant way. The existance of mages in many forms is widely known, however the fewest can truthfully claim to have met somebody capable to perform magical feats. Due to this, a party playing in Deoria is unlikely to have a great number of spell casting classes. While players are encouraged to embrace all aspects of the world, including magic, more than 1-2 spellcasters would exceed the realistic quota for the setting.
Character Creation
All players can create their characters on their own. The characters start on level 5 and receives a free feat of the players choice. Casters have to be discussed with the group and the DM due to their limited avaivability. Further, no more than 2 characters may originate from the same nation. Due to that, the players should communicate their intended home nation with each other.
The following Stat Arrays can be used:
| 17 | 12 | 12 | 11 | 10 | 10 |
| 15 | 15 | 14 | 11 | 11 | 10 |

Various Homebrew content is available, ask your DM. Your starting equipment is determined by class and backgroud, additional items are available at the DMs discretion. Starting money is not determined by your background but will instead be granted individually to each character.
Additional Pointers
When making a character in Deoria, some things should be remembered to allow the campaign to feel as rewarding as possible.
- The campaign will feature heavy themes of combat and exploration. Ensuring a character can contribute to the party in one of these categories is advised.
- To allow for plot-compatibility, a character should not be viewed as a criminal by the government of their home.
- When creating a character, the home nations language should be noted and if possible, selected as proficient. If that should not be possible, please consult your dm.
