Aknar is a manistic monarchy located in the middle west of Deoria. The land is almost entirely covered in vast greenlands and forests and is known for the dangerous creatures that roam them.
The hunting based society of Aknar is known for their great riders, horses and the various unique ressources the beasts that can only be found here supply.
Dragonborn and tieflings are the main inhabitants of Aknar. The local language is sylvan.
Society
Faith
The faith of Aknar is based around the spirits of their ancestors, as the people believe they watch and impact the life of the living. While there are no religious institutions, there are communal rites and ceremonies, along with celebrations tied to certain dates.
Administration and Social Classes
The people of Aknar are often called Aknarians, however refer to themselves as Háredas. While the hereditary bloodline of the king is the absolute sovereign, the nature of the land and its society cause most settlements to be self-governing with the king only really making use of his position in matters of complete national interest.
There are no classes within the society of Aknar. The Háredas are all viewed as equal, with exception to the royals. They live in reinforced settlements, with little to nobody daring to settle outside the safety of city walls, due to the beasts of the land.
History
Aknar is the name given to the land that the Háredas populate. This name however also was used when the culture before the Háredas was present here, a culture that was wiped out by the darklings in the second age.
When the new civilization was founded here by the first king, a dragonborn named Háred, he managed to create a safe heaven despite the many dangers of the lands. It is due to that, that the people here call themselves Háredas, which translates to Háred's people. The Háredas are known as horse-people. They have bred incredibly strong warhorses that are used for hunting and transport.
Military
The military of Aknar is almost exclusively mounted troops of various kinds. Be that on their warhorses, or even tamed and mounted beasts. They have a decent standing army, but the hunters guilds make an elite addition to their forces in times of need.
Foreign Relations
Aknar trades with many nations, simply because the warhorses and beast materials that can only be found here are of great value all over Deoria. They uphold no active alliances.
Locations
Goldheort
Since Aknar consists of mostly small villages and forts, Goldheort is the largest settlement and holds the White Hall of Háred, the seat and residence of Aknar's kings.
It is encircled by large walls and wooden spikes, driving away any beasts that may come too close. Its houses are mostly made of wood found in the vast forests of Aknar.
