Age of War

The first records of the second age begin within established societies. Their structures are not quite as developed as they are today, but the first larger nations were forming. The beginning of the second age was one of warfare and conquering, as all the developing societies were fighting over a countless amount of things ranging from culture to territory. As alliances formed and innovations were made, the nations began to take clearer forms. The borders became established and the tensions slowly but surely began to settle. Many of the nations that exist today found their origin in this way.

After this eventful prelude, many of the nations focussed on their development. Though something began to stir in the unclaimed continent we know as Vuguzrad today. Shut away from the eyes of all nations, a dark presence had taken hold over the land and began to shape it to its very own wishes. This included the creation of a new species that would soon become known to the rest of Deoria.

When the time had come, like a tidal wave, a darkness washed over the world. The invasion of the darklings had begun. Their master and creator, who would later become known as Tirvonar among many other names, desired nothing less than Deoria itself.

Many places were overwhelmed in almost an instant, withdrawing away from the seemingly endless forces of Vugzurad. These times of terror put a rest to all grudges the nations held, forcing what would later become known as the Wordly Alliance. Though even their combined forces only seemed to slow the tide of darklings that spilled forth from their dark home.

These increasingly desperate times, the worlds demise casting its terrifying shadow, one last effort was made in hopes to change the course of fate.

First, a vessel was crafted from materials so deeply filled with magical energy, only a master in the arcane arts would be able to even withstand the sheer power it emitted. With this, the alliances leaders hoped to absorb a large portion of the dark overlords might, leaving him vulnerable to the second item crafted. Said item was a spear crafted by means unknown today. It was meant to pierce the heart of darkness, once and for all ending Tirvonar.

In one last battle, the forces of the world led by Ithil the Wolf marched against the darklings while the Archmage Elanthir would attempt to do the impossible. As the battle raged and the losses became almost too great to bear, a golden light appeared in the sky like a second sun. For the blink of an eye, it flickered, before bursting into pieces. But as it shattered, the darklings began to grovel and flee. As quick as they had come, they were driven back to Vugzurad. The world had endured and the forces of darkness had been defeated. This victory concluded the second age.
