Yuga

Yuga, the jungle region, is located in the east of Koto. It is entirely made of thick jungle, its inhabitants having made their homes in unison with the nature around them. Yuga is currently ruled by the elven daimyo Hitha Yato.

With their homes carved into the trees, the inhabitants of Yuga almost exclusively believe in the nature gods Saruhiko and Kakusu. The order of Ki is prevalent through the entirety of the region.

The jungle is hazardous, but the inhabitants of Yuga have learned to master its challenges and make them their own boons. They use this knowledge to guard the great world tree Ki.

Yuga is inhabited almost exclusively by elves, however, some that have dedicated themselves to the order of Ki also find shelter in the vicious jungle.

Cities

Yuga

Yuga is the capital of the region that shares its name. It is in addition the only city, that lies there. The inhabitans are all very spiritually bound to the Ki tree. They are its protectors and believe it is the source of all life springing in the world, as it was brought there by the children of Musubi. They believe it to be the closest connection to Saruhiko and Kakusu.

Yuga's buildings are all created in unison with the forest, wrapping around trees or using natural holes to create homes. Only the wood of already fallen trees is collected and used. The only iron tools and wares come from the imports that the merchants bring from the Chisai region. Yuga is however home to the best medicine crafters in Koto, as their knowledge with the flora and its uses is unparalleled.

Landmarks

The Ki Tree

The Ki Tree is a huge tree in the Yuga region, its size second to none. The tree is in fact so large that even from the Atsui bastion, one can see it on the horizon. The crown of this plant parts the clouds.

The Ki tree is said to be the heart of the world, from which all life stems. Due to that, its protectors are ever vigilant and make sure none may harm the world tree, as that would harm the essence of life itself.
