Government

Farandell is a monarchy and the Cor'Quessir has near total control although they often follow the decisions of the council. The Cor'Quessir hold that position until their death. How the successor is chosen is not clear as it only happened twice so far.

The first time in 1E156 the successor was named by the Cor'Quessir before their death.

The second time in 2E783 the successor was elected in a lengthy two year process.

During the ascension the third Cor'Quessir stayed in Elyalion. This would prompt a discussion on how to choose the next Cor'Quessir however the oldest member of the council assumed the position of the new Cor'Quessir. Although not lawful many people accepted the decision to have strong leadership after the events of the ascension and not having to decide the process of succession on top of reorganising and rebuilding after the ascension.

Alliances

Farandell has a military alliance with Oskesh and a protective agreement with Elder Cove.

History

Farandell is the oldest country in Erotria. It was founded by a group of elves in 1E-236 who became the first council.

In 1E-212 the city in which Farandell was founded in war renamed to Elyalion.

In 1E-133 the White Tower of Elyalion was finished and is until today the highest building in Erotria. During the ascension the tower was left behind as the elven mages were not sure how such a high structure would react in the transition into the demiplane.

Society

Farandell's society mainly consists of elves. White not unwelcoming to outsiders many other races simply are not comfortable with the longevity of elven society. Since elves live so long their daily life follows the perspective of years rather than months or weeks. Many more short lived races often find this fustrating.

Elves value nature and the fine arts. Given their seemingly endless time of practice elven painters and sculptors are unparalleled. And with elvish grammar being so complex there are many elven poets.
