The Hobbits the southern most country in mainland Erotria. The Hobbits tend to keep to themselves but are not against foreigners. The crest features a yellow badger on green background.
Government
The Hobbits follow a more laissez-faire type of government that can best be described as an anarchistic republic. People tend to themselves and solve problems when they come up. The only two govermental positions are the postal service and the rangers. The rangers serve as the police but most of their jobs consist of bringing drunk hobbits home and chasing kids out of fields. There is a Thain of the Hobbitlands who gets elected every 10 years. While technically being the leader of the Hobbits the role mainly serves representative functions.
Alliances
The Hobbits have a peacefull alliance with Elder Cove.
The Hobbits also have the Debt of Peace with Teldin.
History
Hobbits have always preferred the hilly landscapes of the southern Greenlands. At the end of the 1st Era they took on the Debt of Peace with Teldin. Only relatively late in 2E525 they decided to officially form a nation after territory disputes with neighbouring countries.
Society
Hobbits enjoy the simple life. Farming, food, ale and parties are the things most on their mind. They are weary of strangers but open to include them in their lifes if they prove to be a nice person. Hobbits rarely care about issues in the outside world since they rarely get affected by them.
