Gate of Erotria

The Gate of Erotria is military base in the Perlboro Mountains and seperates the Greenlands from the rest of Erotria.

Details

The Gate of Erotria is a massive construction. The main feature are two gigantic doors measuring 100m high and 70m wide each. They are made of the finest rock the dwarves could find and reinforced with thick plates of metal. They are ankered into the mountains and huge rollers make them able to move although powerfull steam boilers are still needed.

Besides the two engine rooms build into the mountains next to the gate there aren't many buildings there. A barracks that holds a regiments of guards as this is a very important geographical location and a customs building controlling all traffic through the gate are the only official buildings here. There are always a few tents of merchants and travellers waiting for approval of various documents but any tries of merchants and civilians to settle there or set up shop are prevented.

History

The Gate of Erotria was build by the dwarves after the Treaty of the White Tower. Construction started in 1E13 after diplomatic talks and extensive planning. In 1E24 it was finished as the second highest man made free standing structure just after the White Tower in Elyalion.

It was controlled by a council of the Hobbits throughout the years even it the Gate itself was not part of their territory.

After the [ascension] and with the rise of the Triton Confederation they lost control of it. Right now the Triton Confederation holds control over the Gate of Erotria and controls all traffic through it.
